Custom cabinetry for this kitchenette was
commissioned by the University of Michigan's
Center for Chinese Studies.
The cabinet above the refrigerator
features gas-powered shocks, which
keep the door open and make it easier to
load/unload materials.
Maple was chosen for its natural blond
appearance, and clear varnish was used
to help protect it over time.
